About The Artists
Kelly Godel began his art career with an interest in sculpting and creative writing. By the mid 1980"s he focused on filmmaking, producing a few animated short subjects which utilized his large collection of action figures and dolls as well as his own custom made puppets, miniature sets, and latex masks. After a few years of self-guided study, a bride stint at university, and the exploration of other mediums including painting and pottery, he eventually shifted his focus from writing and filmmaking to limited edition home decor sculptures and garden statuary. Kelly was invited to participate in "A Gathering of Excellence" a mixed-media sculpture and art doll exhibit held on February 11th, 1999 at the Waldorf-0Astoria in New York City. Kelly lives in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
Nikki King lives in Victoria, Canada and has been involved with art for 25 years. She attended Art College in London, England in the late sixties and is a sought after hair and wig designer in the film industry. Utilizing the skills of observation honed on film sets and coupled with her ongoing studies of the human form, clay sculpture is proving to be the ideal medium for Nikki to express her artistic talents.
Anthony Manning was born in The UK but before moving to Victoria had lived in Jamaica and Toronto. He is a commercial artist by trade whose self taught sculpting style is strongly influenced by Classical Antiquity. Anthony has been involved in architectural restoration for a umber of years, \his crowing glory being his involvement in the restoration of the famous Pantages Theater in Toronto.
Iris Nardini holds a drgree in Visual Arts and a degree in Art History. Her main focus is designing figurative works in clay, bronze and concrete, although she is an accomplished painter. Her pieces are to be found in galleries in California, Nevada and British Columbia. Iris believes that her education in Art History allows her to draw inspiration from antiquity. She now resides in Victoria, BC.
Ari Schafer was born in Koln, West Germany in 1946. He apprenticed is embossing and steel engraving before moving to South Africa in 1965. He spent time in Holland, Switzerland and the USA before settling in Victoria, BC. Ari is skilled in sculpting, metal fabrication, jewelry work and carving and is often asked to do commission work. He has over n hundred bronze designs to his names, has exhibited at many shows and galleries and his original work has become valued by collectors. He set up a local sculptor's guild and passes on his talents to students.
Jeff Williams is a designer/sculptor residing in Victoria, B.C. All of Jeff's works have a strong design impact and his wall plaques incorporating human elements have established him as a sculptor worth collecting. His art is unique in character and centered on classic mythical forms. He has designed a series of ceramic figurative lighting scones and reliefs.
