I live about one hour from Atlantic City, NJ. It was the late 1960's or early 70's and my mother took me, my brother and some friends to the Steel Pier at Atlantic City, NJ. The Pier isn't there anymore but I was able to see and hear the original group Badfinger at Steel Pier way back then. Thanks Mom! I also saw the Stones, The Shondels, The Four seasons and many other groups over the years there. I must admit that seeing Badfinger was the best concert I ever saw at the Steel Pier. It was a small area.. about 3,000 people. My mom even got to meet some of the members. I know they had a hit or two out at the time. I know there are some people out there who remember Steel Pier. The tickets were 1.50 cents each. That included the concert, 3 movies and the famos diving horse which dove into the Atlantic oceon plus about 20 other things to do and see.Ill never forget my encounter with a great group...BADFINGER. frankl4gibson@yahoo.com

Mike, I am at school fooling around with the computer finishing up an assignment. But I had to turn my attention to bigger and better things..... . The BADFINGER home page. Excellent! Finally someone to put the Worlds greatest group on the net! So, I thought I'd drop you a note.

I am from St. Paul Minnesota. As you know, Joey Molland lives in a small town called Wood Dale( which is about ten minutes from my house), although I don't actually know where his house is . We around the area here have the rare luxury of seeing Joey play live at different clubs. I went to see him plat at a small place called Brewbakers Saloon about a month and a half ago. He played with a drummer and a bass player as a three piece band. We were blown away from his show. He is in top form to say the least. Our Beers were literally blown off the table fifteen feet away from the stage. He played through two Marshall JCM 900 heads and matching 4x12 cabinets. He did all the classics plus an new tune called something like "A Beautiful Day" though I can't remember exactly.

After the show, about ten of us waited for him to take a shower and come back out. Ten minutes passed by then he came out and talked with us for 20 minutes. It's funny because when you see him up on stage, he looks like 7 feet tall because he has a great stage presence, Then when you see him up close, he can't be more than 5feet five inches tall. He is really a little guy. I brought my No Dice album for him to sign , which he did , then I went out in my car to get my Hoffner acoustic guitar and he signed that too . He signed it "TO John, Straight Up. Badfinger .Joey Molland. He also drew a small drawing of a hand giving the "Badfinger", it's cool. We offered him a beer, but he said he doesn't drink.....

My older brother saw Joey and Tom in Mid 1983 playing in a club called The Hideaway. The biggest thing he remembers (besides the music) is seeing Tom Evans sitting by himself at a table with a drink in his hand and his head down not saying anything. Who would have thought that he only had 6 months or so left? My favorite 3 bands in order are The Beatles, The Stones and Badfinger. Compare that to all of the crap on M.T.V. like Bush and Everclear.... So I thought I'd let you know that Badfinger is #1 up here in Minnesota. Keep up the Homepage it's all I look at besides the beer listings.....
It's the Name of the Game...............................John Freppert St. Paul Minnesota.

As author of this Badfinger Home Page my close encounter with Badfinger is a short but first hand. In about 1982, Badfinger who consisted of Joey Molland, Tom Evans and a drummer name unknown, played at a bar in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
